Happy Hump Day everyone! Am I the only one who kept thinking all day that tomorrow is Friday? I mean, I need all the time I can get…but I wouldn’t complain if it were one day closer to the weekend!
Last night I made an AWESOME announcement…that after only two months, I’ve dropped another jean size and am now comfortably in a size 14.
But I also left you hanging, saving my next awesome announcement for today! And here we are. So, without further ado…
Last week, I was perusing Twitter, and I saw a tweet from a fellow fitblogger, @runningknitwit:
Not only did I think this was awesome for her, but this tweet also got me thinking…I haven’t checked my BMI in ages. Maybe not since I first started this whole weight loss journey. So I pulled up the BMI calculator on the CDC’s website…first I figured out what my BMI was when I first started, at 283 pounds.
Then, I figured out what my BMI was at my last weigh in, at 219 pounds.
Like @runningknitwit, I also have just entered the “Overweight” category! AMAZING!!!
According to Wikipedia, at a BMI of 38.4 I was morbidly obese.
I was wearing a size 20-22 pants and a XXL in tops. I sometimes had a hard time squeezing in chairs, like at the hairstylist or in a restaurant. I was easily winded when going up a flight of stairs, and my knees and lower back always hurt.
Now, at a BMI of 29.7, I’m simply “overweight”.
I wear a size 14 jeans and a medium or a large in tops. I don’t get winded climbing the stairs and my knees don’t hurt anymore. I don’t cringe when I slide into a booth at a dinner out with friends.
At 64 pounds lost, I look totally different.
I FEEL totally different.
And it’s a totally GREAT feeling!
I may be just under the cutoff for “overweight” versus “obese”, but I’ll take it! I’ll count it as another great accomplishment as I continue to lose weight, pound by pound, getting closer to “normal weight”! Towards my healthy, happy weight.
How about you? Tell me something great that you accomplished recently!
See you tomorrow!
