I know, I KNOW. This is my third post in a row about the friggin’ Foodbuzz Blogger Festival.
…But I’m dead serious when I say that this was one of the best weekends I’ve had in a long, long time!!! I simply have to share some final thoughts with you.
Like this final picture of the bridge I took as I left San Francisco on Sunday morning.
Okay, on to the thoughts.
I really didn’t know what I was getting myself into when I signed up for this weekend of food and fun in SF…I’ve never been to a blogging or foodie convention/festival/major get-together before, I only knew a tiny handful of people going into the weekend, and even though I can be plenty sarcastic and outgoing here on the blog I can be a little shy in big groups of people.
Especially when I don’t know anyone.
Especially when I don’t know anyone but I feel like I know their whole life story because I read their blog every day.
It can be kind of a weird dynamic, ya know?
Anywho, I met some amazing people this weekend and I want you to check out their blogs. Really. Start opening these up in new tabs, like pronto.
First off, I ended up bumping into more of my local blog friends than I expected…these are all great ladies that I’ve hung out with before:
- Danica from Danica’s Daily
- Tracey from TJ’s Test Kitchen
- Marlene from Nosh My Way
- Courtney from Pancakes & Postcards
- Suki from Super Duper Fantastic
- Annelies from Attune Foods and La Vie En Route
And then there were LOTS of cool new people with beautiful amazing blogs!! In no particular order whatsoever:
- Sarah from Sarah Snacks
- Laura from Becoming the Odd Duck
- Courtney from The Granola Chronicles
- Beth from Beth’s Journey
- Quinn from Libation Lab (also wins award for coolest business card)
- Melissa from Serving Seconds
- Hayley from Simply Scrumptious
- Ann from Running with Chopstix
- Shannon from Killer Bunnies
- Jessica from Sunny Side Up in San Diego
- Nikki from Pennies on a Platter
- Joelen from What’s Cookin’ Chicago?
- Adam from Viva LA Foodies
- Sree from SaagAHH
- Jessica from My Baking Heart
And many more. If I missed listing you, please don’t be mad at me. Add your blog in the comments so we can all find you again!
I have one “special mention”…I finally got to meet my lovely friend Michelle from The Running Jewess…HOORAY! Even though we didn’t get to see a lot of each other…I was attending the Foodbuzz events and she wasn’t…it was so great to finally give her a big squeeze! It’s funny how you can become such great buddies with people you’ve never met in person…I’m going to go steal her away from her office in the Stanford Engineering department soon.
All in all, I just want to say that I feel so thankful to have found such a great community in the food/fitness/healthy living blog world. I started my blog just as a personal account of my weight loss journey and without even knowing that there was this whole blog community out there. What I’ve stumbled upon has really impacted my life in such a cool way.
I can’t wait to go to another blogging event soon! Fitbloggin’? The Healthy Living Summit? Fitness & Health Bloggers Conference? Food Blogger Bootcamp? I want to go to them ALL!
But for now I’ll just say…for those of you who came to San Francisco…
…it was lovely to meet you.
