Down 2 pounds this week! Looks like my workout routine kicked things into the right direction…I was hoping for at least a couple of pounds this week and a couple of pounds is what I got! Totally not complaining!
ESPECIALLY since this brings me officially to a big, round SEVENTY FIVE pounds lost! Wowza! That’s kind of a surreal number…I mean, I know I’ve been working on this whole weight loss thing for a year. And I know that I’ve lost five pant sizes…down to a 12 from a 20-22. And I know that I look different…people (coworkers, friends, customers at Mom’s shop) tell me nearly every day. But it’s still a surreal feeling! Losing 75 pounds is just something I never thought I would be able to accomplish!
(But I have. YAY ME.)
…So, what’s next on the to-do list?
Well, this, first of all:
The Giant Race 5K. Remember when I signed up a few months ago? I signed up with my little brother and we agreed to train together to run the whole thing…all 3.1 miles. That is just a little warm-up run for a lot of my blogging runner friends, but for me that would be huge! I’ve walked two half marathons, but I’m not much of a runner. At all.
And…I’m still not a runner. I haven’t trained to run this race at all. Not even one training jog. Then my brother was kind of wavering on doing it, so I kind of figured that I’d be passing on the race altogether and just sacrificing my $30 entry fee. Finally, yesterday, my bro informed me that he took the day off of work and we were going to do it after all. So, I guess I’m in! I’ll don my Brian Wilson t-shirt and go for a 3.1 mile stroll, collect my t-shirt and go get crepes at my favorite place in the city. Might as well!

Meanwhile, this week I’m going to stay on track with my daily workouts…I might work in a couple of 3.1 mile walks to get ready for Saturday! I’m also going to work on getting my nutrition on track this week. I haven’t been bad but I haven’t been great. I know I could do better and once I get the food thing and the workout thing on track simultaneously, I know I’ll really start cruising toward my goal weight!
Until then…
How about you? Do you have any races coming up? Have you adequately trained (totally unlike me!)?
