<p>Yes, I am still around. I got a little sidetracked toward the end of last week, and then I decided to unplug for the weekend and catch up on real life for a bit. </p>
<p>“Wait, you mean there is more to the world than the internet?” </p>

<p>Why yes, grasshopper. There is this thing called “the real world” and that’s where you have your family and some friends and your regular job, paying bills and eating and sleeping and washing your socks and stuff. And when you spend lots and lots of time on the internet, blogging and tweeting and facebooking and flickring and the like, you fall behind in other important “real world” things. </p>
<p>Like washing your socks. Man, I had a lot of dirty socks.</p>
<p>So here I am, socks (somewhat) washed, getting back to the blog. You may have noticed that I didn’t post a weigh in yesterday, and you would be right. I decided to unplug this week from the scale as well. Valentine’s Day saw me get off track food-wise…I am largely emotionally indifferent to Valentine’s Day—I neither love it nor hate it—it’s just the abundance of food around yet another holiday that gets me off track! I mean, how many cupcakes with pink and red sprinkles do we really need? How many heart shaped chocolates in red foil? And when I indulge one day, it seems to turn into a span of three or four days that I can’t seem to get back on the straight and narrow. That, combined with the fact that I found myself laying on the pressure to break the 200 mark at my next weigh in made me decide to slowly back away from the scale for a week.</p>
<p>We’ll see next week whether or not it was a good idea!</p>
<p>I have some fun recipes to share soon, some photos from a couple of great photo safaris I’ve taken lately, and the usual witty banter…so stay tuned!</p>
<p>As for me, I have to finish up a few more “real world” things tonight…like washing some lettuce and catching up on Gossip Girl.</p>

<p>5. I’m really excited about these little apartment updates. I’m not excited about the fact that they were supposed to happen on Friday, and today is Monday and nothing has happened yet. They will start work tomorrow. Allegedly.</p>
<p>6. I didn’t feel like going to the gym tonight but I made myself go.</p>
<p>7. I wore this shirt to the gym in an effort to feel pumped up.</p>

Time for grocery shopping, and it shows…I ate a ton of nuts and fat/carbs today! I also had to approximate the calories for my dinner, pasta with meat sauce and breadsticks at Mom and Dad’s.</p>
<p>I should hit up the store in the morning for some healthier fare, and better luck tomorrow!</p>
