Time to post the weekly weigh-in results! I didn’t weigh-in a day late, but me and the pooch had an enchilada-making party yesterday in the kitchen so I neglected to post.
Previous weight: 265.5 pounds
Today’s weight: 263.5 pounds
Loss this week of 2.0 pounds
Total weight loss to date: 19.5 pounds!
I’m half a pound short, as the title of this post says, of hitting my next five pound goal (20 pounds lost! Could it be?) I’m sure I’ll definitely hit it next Sunday. (I cheated and weighed myself today but since it’s not an official weigh-in day, I’m keeping it mum.)
People have started telling me that I’m looking thinner, which is nice. Some of them are people that may have read one of my posts here (“Seventeen pounds! Good job! I can see it.”)…but others who have no idea I’m trying to lose weight or that I’m blogging about it have started to comment. That’s the really cool part. Even though I don’t feel any different, there’s no vast change in the fit of my clothes or what I see in the mirror, people have noticed. Which means it must be happening, even if I don’t see it. More motivation to trudge on!
As far as goals for the last week, I accomplished my goal of eating out only one time this past week. I did not meet my goal, however, of drinking 64 ounces of water a day. I don’t know why, but I’ve been struggling with water intake lately. Maybe I’ll just post a reminder on my Outlook calendar so that every hour, it pops up and I can chug 8 ounces! Technological hand-holding doesn’t get any better than that, haha.
Oh wait, actually…it does. I have a confession to make. I bought myself a gadget this weekend! I’ve been doing a lot of reading about the Bodybugg, the armband sensor that measures your calorie burn all day long and then gives you reports once you plug it into your computer. I was a little skeptical at first, but on a lot of the message boards I checked out, users seem to love it! For the most part, there’s been a good amount of believers out there that say the armband is comfortable to wear, it seems to do an accurate job of tracking calories burned compared to other methods, and the information you get back from it is invaluable as a motivator. I decided to give it a whirl and bought one at about half price on eBay. It should come in the mail this week! I might end up looking a little dorky walking around with the band on my arm, but at least I’ll know how many calories I’m burning while doing it.
Goals for this week:
I’m trying again for the 64 ounces of water per day.
I’m also going to set a goal of 10 miles walked for the week. I really need to get back on the walking schedule if this half-marathon is going to happen in October.
xoxo,
~Melissa
