Starting weight: 283.0 pounds
Week 76 weight: 208.1 pounds
Today’s weight: 208.5 pounds
Gain this week of: 0.4 pounds
Total weight loss to date: 74.5 pounds
Hey everyone! Just a quick check in/weigh in post here…as you can see, a 0.4 pound gain this week. I actually expected a gain, it was just a matter of how much. You see, all the signs were pointing to a gain…here’s why:
I really increased my activity over the past week, with some Body Pump and yoga classes, some early morning cardio sessions (including 30 minutes on the elliptical trainer—can’t tell you when the last time I made it to 30 minutes was!) on top of my workout with Trainer and some morning walks on the non-cardio mornings. The last time I increased my activity to this level, I gained a couple of pounds at my weekend weigh in. A bunch of you emailed me or commented on the post and told me not to worry about it, that it happens when you get back in the gym and hit it hard after a little time off. I wondered if that would happen again and maybe it has.
Secondly, I’m being somewhat mindful of what I’ve been eating but I’ve not been super strict. As I said in my weigh in post last week, I want to maintain my weight through the holidays and still be able to enjoy the onslaught of sweet treats that mark this time of year. I shouldn’t have eaten that half-batch of chocolate chip cookies I made…but no one’s perfect, right?
And finally…there was that other thing. That girl thing, ifyouknowwhatImean. And I was feeling bloated and cranky and craving chocolate chip cookies (see paragraph 2).
SO…all in all, I’m not sweating a less-than-half-pound loss. I’m going to keep hitting the gym this week as much as I can, and hopefully drop this little bit of water weight by my next weigh in.
How about you? If you’re watching your weight/nutrition/exercise habits this holiday season, what are your goals?
